Myofunctional Therapy
Orofacial myofunctional therapy includes therapeutic exercises/therapy to strengthen and habilitate facial and tongue muscles for optimal function. Goals include improving: nasal breathing, resting tongue posture, lip seal, optimal chewing and swallowing patterns.
This can also include pre and post frenectomy care.
Pediatric Feeding
Lauren has completed advanced feeding courses to provide pediatric feeding therapy. This includes FeedThePeds and TalkTools courses. She also has specialized training in tethered oral tissues and oral motor function. Feeding therapy (with a twist of myo) is provided for children ages 6 months and up.
Screenings
I am currently offering 'pay what you can' screenings. This is an opportunity to ask questions about any concerns you may have. This is not an evaluation, but I will identify any potential red flags and make referrals to appropriate providers (ENT, dentist, OT, myo) and determine if a full evaluation is necessary. This can be done online via teletherapy or in-office.
Evaluations
Evaluations may include parent interviews, a speech-language sample, observation, standardized assessments, and therapist-client interaction. The evaluation process allows me to develop an understanding of your child's strengths and challenges to guide individualized recommendations. Following the evaluation, in collaboration with parents, we will develop a treatment plan and therapy goals.
Therapy
Taking a child-centered approach, every session is individualized to your child's goals, abilities, and preferences. I understand children learn best when they are engaged and having fun; therefore, every session will incorporate evidence-based strategies along with interactive, hands-on activities. Parents are encouraged to be a part of the therapy process and will be provided with tools for practice at home.

Get Started Today!
1.
Contact Lauren Hartsook Speech Therapy where you will speak directly with me, Lauren Hartsook, owner, and speech-language pathologist. I will answer your questions and make recommendations for the next best steps.
2.
In most cases, we will begin with an evaluation to understand your child's unique profile and identify his or her strengths and challenges. Your initial session is also a chance for us to collaboratively develop a treatment plan and goals.
5.
3.
Once therapy begins, each session will be individualized to your child's preferences and goals. Clients typically attend sessions 1-2 times a week for 30-45 minutes. I will take regular data to measure progress and ensure we are achieving your child's goals.
"You must first teach a child he is loved. Only then is he ready to learn everything else."
